After a nation-wide search led by consultants Armstrong McGuire and the NC Theatre Board Transition Committee, Lisa Grele Barrie has been appointed Executive Director. Barrie joined NC Theatre as Development Director in 2003 and was instrumental in jumpstarting a dynamic fundraising culture in the organization. She was promoted to Managing Director at the beginning of 2008 and has worked extensively in the community to forge meaningful partnerships and collaborations and elevate the relevance and stature of NC Theatre. She is honored and excited to lead NC Theatre into the next era of excellence and is proud of the exceptional staff/board team that surrounds and supports her. The company's focus will be solidly mission driven: producing high quality Broadway shows with unique casting and delivering on a commitment to theatre education.  NC Theatre will continue to extend their reach into the community with innovative partnerships and programs.


Casey Hushion will assume the title of Artistic Director. Casey Hushion is a rising star in New York with stage credits that include Assistant Director for Drowsy Chaperone, winner of five Tony Awards®, and In the Heights, winner of the 2008 Tony Award® for Best Musical. She has worked extensively with NC Theatre on both KOB and main stage productions most notably with The King and I and Chess. She will be directing Yeston & Kopit's Phantom in October.
Carolee Baxter has been promoted to Producer and began her employment with North Carolina Theatre nine years ago and most recently served as the Production Manager. She holds an MS degree in Communications from Florida State University where she also pursued undergraduate studies in theater. She credits Executive Director and Producer, William Jones, for immersing her in all facets of theater production management and is looking forward to continuing the artistic excellence North Carolina Theatre is known for.
The Leadership Team includes Joan Caviness as Development Director, Ray Walker, Conservatory Artistic Director, and Trish McCoy as Business Manager. They are supported by staff excellence in all areas.
