Share the Stars is North Carolina Theatre’s bridge from
ticket holders, foundations and corporations to
children who do not have the resources to attend
theatrical productions. By providing free tickets
to nonprofit organizations serving children in
need, North Carolina Theatre is able to identify
children that would normally not be able to attend
a show due to financial limitations.
The Share the Stars program was designed to expose children in need
to the unique American art form of musical theatre.
We believe that the power and magic of the stage
offers hope and possibility to area youth, particularly
those who are in search of self-esteem and positive
role models.
Individuals, foundations and corporations can
participate in this exciting program that offers
complimentary balcony seats to matinee performances
for our main stage productions. For every three
$20 tickets purchased, the North Carolina Theatre
will donate one, providing a lifetime memory
for a child. The donor’s name will be
acknowledged in the playbill.
For larger contributions, children
benefit as follows:
$500 admits 25 children
$1,000 admits 50 children
$2,500 admits 125 children
$5,000 admits 250 children
Organizations that have received Share
the Stars tickets include Building Together,
Communities in Schools, Dorothea Dix Hospital,
Haven House, Loaves and Fishes, Methodist Home
for Children, Oak Ranch, Passage Home, Ronald
McDonald House, and Step Up Ministry.
“Thank you so much for donating tickets
to…Beauty and
the Beast. All 40 tickets were quickly
spoken for! It’s wonderful that North
Carolina Theatre is willing to make such donation
and to give people who would not otherwise have
the chance, an opportunity to experience the
magic of the arts.” – Faith Outreach
Coordinator, Urban Ministries of Wake County
“Thank you immensely for the ticket donations
to see Joseph and
the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat…I
cannot express to you enough how wonderful this
opportunity was for our clients. Not only are
such outings fun, but they also help build self-esteem
and self-confidence. Thank you for playing such
an instrumental role in their holistic treatment.”
–Community Relations Coordinator, Dorothea
Dix Hospital
