LEADERSHIP TRANSITION AT NC THEATRE
 
 
Wally Jones

Executive Director and Producer William “Wally” Jones is leaving NC Theatre to pursue an exceptional career opportunity at Casa Manana, a ten million dollar non-profit professional regional theatre in Fort Worth, Texas. He will assume the title of president and executive director beginning November 3, 2008. It is a testament to the solid reputation of both Wally and NC Theatre that he was courted by such a prestigious theatre like Casa Manana.

In his 20 years at NC Theatre, William Jones has been involved in every facet of running the Theatre. Since assuming the role of Executive Director in 2003, he has been the driving force behind the artistic excellence and youth training that are at the heart of the NC Theatre mission.  Under his leadership, the organization has become fiscally strong, thanks to a dynamic board and renewed philanthropic culture.  He has cultivated a highly skilled team who are prepared to step up to continue the organization’s successful path.



Lisa Grele Brarrie

Lisa Grele Barrie has been promoted to Interim Executive Director. Lisa Grele Barrie has been with NC Theatre since 2003 and was promoted to Managing Director at the beginning of the year. As Development Director, she was instrumental in jumpstarting a dynamic fundraising culture by doubling contributed income over a five year period. She has also worked extensively in the community to forge meaningful partnerships and collaborations.

 
Casey Hushion

Casey Hushion will assume the title of Interim Artistic Director. Casey Hushion is a rising star in New York with stage credits that include Assistant Director for Drowsy Chaperone, winner of five Tony Awards®, and In the Heights, winner of the 2008 Tony Award® for Best Musical. She has worked extensively with NC Theatre on both KOB and main stage productions most notably with The King and I and Chess.  She will be directing Yeston & Kopit’s Phantom in October.  

 
Carolee Baxter

Carolee Baxter has been promoted to Associate Producer and began her employment with North Carolina Theatre nine years ago and most recently served as the Production Manager. She holds an MS degree in Communications from Florida State University where she also pursued undergraduate studies in theater. She credits Executive Director and Producer, William Jones, for immersing her in all facets of theater production management and is looking forward to continuing the artistic excellence North Carolina Theatre is known for.


The Leadership Team includes recently promoted Emily Bruce as Development Director, Allen McCoy, Director of Education and Trish McCoy as Business Manager. They are supported by staff excellence in all areas.
 
The Executive Committee of the NCT board, Jack Finley, Board President, Mitch Perry, VP/Finance, Tina Bernhardt, VP/Development, Bob Monroe, VP/Administration, Barbara Dupree, Secretary and Don Fraley will lead this process.  They will be hiring a consultant who will guide strategic/transition planning to include a search.
