North Carolina Theatre’s education initiative provides exceptional performing arts programming and outreach opportunities for youth in our community.

The North Carolina Theatre Conservatory was founded in 2004 and offers students ages 2 to adult a solid foundation in the performing arts. This comprehensive, nine month, semester-based program provides classes in all disciplines from the beginner to the college-bound student taught by New York and local professional performers and instructors.

Summer Theatre Arts School (STAS) was established by De Ann Jones, founder of North Carolina Theatre, and is an audition-based intensive theatre camp held each summer. The success of Summer Theatre Arts School was the start of a long history of dedication to youth training which continues to be an important part of North Carolina Theatre’s mission today.

The North Carolina Theatre Conservatory has outreach programs such as Student Preview Night, Capital Awards, Theatre 4 Change, Share the Stars and Broadway Connections. Scholarships are also available. For more information, please contact Mary Adamek, Conservatory Administrator at 919-855-9960 or madamek@nctheatre.com.
